The trick is to make all your backups automatic or it won't get done. My host backs up my blog as part of their service to me. Fortunately, I don't even have to think about it. Fortunately, I haven't had to think about it!

Hi there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any trouble with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no data backup. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?

It was an excellent and informative presentation. just the right length and number of pictures with adequate time for question and answers. it was our first time at the camera club and your program cinched our return to future mmetings

I am strictly an amature who loves beauty and technology. In my 87 years I have seen an unbelievable amount of change.

Now that I have time I am learning how to use my digital Pentax K20D.
We have had some great speakers and your lecture was tops and I learned many practical bits of info on both action and portrait photography. Thank you - Both of your planned talks will be of great interest.

Thanks for your presentation. I only got to see the last part of it but I relish photography with natural light. Given the option, I would never use flash but if required, never use it directly, always bouncing it off of something else to emulate natural light the best I can.

Two Other Topics I am developing are:

Use of the Histogram (the picture of the picture),
Manipulating On Camera Flash (creating light you want, Mixing with ambient)

Hello, Carlos:
Loved your talk - your photos speak for themselves! You say that this is one of a series of talks you are planning about the use of light; what other aspects are you planning to focus on?

Depending on the water itself, you can create that effect by using the appropriate Shutter Speed. By appropriate I mean SLOW. 1 second or more will usually do the trick. That slow shutter obviates the need for a Tripod or other solid form of camera rest.

Looking forward to seeing some Wonderful Water imagery. Happy Shooting!

Hello,

Thank you for your lecture at the Woodlands United Methodist Church this week.

I have a question about moving water, as in waterfalls. I have noted that some photos have water that looks like a smooth-flowing cloud coming over the falls...a mystical look. Do you have any suggestions as to how to obtain that effect?

Thank you,
Mildred Allen
